Course Title: Asia as Method

LecturerKuan-Hsing Chen

Objective:

In order to break through the domination by Western academia and thought, this course focuses on the problematics of de-imperialization, pointing out that the critical intellectuals at the former colonies at the Third World should deepen the decolonization movement once again from the aspects of cultures, spirits and knowledge production. The course asks the intellectuals to reflect on the de-cold war movement, to start an extensive de-imperialization movement and to reconsider and evaluate the imperial histories they are embedded in.
